no planet - no pickleball

While pickleball is viewed as a sport with less environmental impact than others, we believe it has great potential to be a leader in the green sports movement.

Did you know that our beloved sport directly produces 77 million pounds of plastic every year? Since most plastic is neither recyclable nor compostable, gear like balls, plastic bottles, and nets end up in landfills and oceans. Same with paddles made from graphite, carbon fiber, and fiberglass.

As this sport’s popularity is on the rise, so are more erratic and extreme weather events: prolonged heat waves, drought, storms, and floods are no longer 100-year occurrences. Climate change and noise pollution are threatening outdoor play, player performance, and tournament attendance.

There are a few visionaries who are incorporating sustainability into their pickleball-related business models, yet there’s a lot of room for the entire industry and player community to lower their carbon and environmental footprints.

Our No Planet – No Pickleball campaign was created to promote sustainability, in and out of the kitchen.

Everyone who loves this sport can become a Pickleball for Good EcoChampion and join our campaign by:

  • Signing our pledge form (below)
  • Adopting ecofriendly practices on and off the court
  • Donating to our No Planet – No Pickleball Special Fund
  • Volunteering to collect used pickleballs and paddles that we’ll recycle and repurpose
  • Donating a % of sales to an environmental nonprofit
  • Choosing an environmental nonprofit as your pickleball fundraiser charity
